When we designed our unique twin table machine, we carefully considered the most important factor of any twin table design: repeatability of the table positioning relative to the spindle. Most twin table designs use a rotating table design whereby both tables revolve around an axis of rotation. If this rotation is not accurate, part accuracy also suffers. In our design, both tables move along the same linear guides, thereby guarenteeing that both tables are positioned in an accurate and repeatable manner.
The solid spindle housing was designed for in-line spindle motors. In-line spindle motors allow efficient power transfer from the motors to the cutting tools and also reduce noise due to belt harmonics.
By using heavy-duty roller ways instead of ball-ways, our linear guides provide enhanced stability during heavy cutting. A single piece cast iron base also improves rigidity. As a result of our design concept, twin 50mm ball screws are used to independently transfer motion to the twin tables. Employed in combination with Fanuc control systems, these twin ball screws can be controlled to move together or independently. Independent control maximizes machine efficiency, while synchronized motion allows the twin tables to operate as a single large table for large workpieces. The result is that one machine can do the work that normally requires 3 machines.
